To be able to carry on making Hayley successful with this music video i wanted to find out in more depth what makes her so unique compared to other females artist who's genre is pop.

I then began to look for similar artists on youtube.

JoJo
Although a few years ago JoJo released a few successful songs she has failed to stay in the charts and get recognition for audience. After researching the difference it seemed that JoJo, although she is pretty and has a good voice she is very similar to other female artists amateur or professional in the way in which the song she sings all sound fairly similar the videos are all performance with a small element of narrative. However Hayley on the other hand is edgy and different in her style she changes the genre she sings regularly. As well has how different and diverse her music videos are.

Cheryl Cole has been very successful with her recent solo career reaching number 1 for many of her songs, she has become an icon for pop artists and as a general female role model, although as pop is more mainstream than indie so cheryl cole is more well known in the world, Hayley has been described to be the cheryl cole of indie music, this is supposedly down to both their appearance and style of what ever genre.

Cheryl's videos are mainly performance based with her not only singing but also showing her other talents such as dance, this is where Hayley differs as to make her edgy so doesn't conform to the stereotype of pop music but instead has a slight 'rock' image with bright hair and clothes this reflects in her music and videos.
