I asked my model to come to the shoot with no make up on clean hair, that way i am free to choose different looks correct for the photo. I needed to make sure although i wanted a natural look that for the make up to show well on the camera it needs to be a little bit more obvious. I straightened her hair and put a quiff at the centre top of her head tis added volume as flat hair wasn't the look i was going for. I evened out her skin tone with foundation and applied blushes in the appropraite places in order for her cheek bones to stand out. I then applied a strong black around her eyes so that they will pop out of the cover. The first set was outside where i used the garden at the facility. Focused on 'wood like' areas such as around trees and grass ect. Some of the pictures i wanted them to be 'posed' but i still wanted to keep a few natural to see which one would suit my artist the best. These are all the photos from the shoot;
I was very happy with the shoot's outcome and got loads of good quality photos. My favourite 3 photos and the ones that i will be using for my focus group are number 1,2 and 8 this is for a number of reasons; lighting is perfect for the look i was going for, The position of the artist is really effective and is flattering to her, It represents my artist well and will help to re-brand her.
